Blow up Polar Bear
August 26, 2008For activist marketing, aka “Saving the Planet marketing”, I think guerilla is the strongest way to go. It interacts with the user. It invades their space. It moves, and asks for a reaction. Reading a message on a page, or hearing one on television or radio does work occasionally, if and when you break through the clutter, but guerilla messes with people’s heads. Seeing something like this before you get on a subway, or grab a sandwich from the deli down the street will ring in your mind the entire time. That’s effective messaging.

Genius Guiness
August 4, 2008My first response to this spot was, “what the hell is going on?” But when i saw the flickering of the lights i knew exactly what was happening, but that’s only because I knew it was a Guiness spot from the beginning. Beautiful. The music and beauty of this spot keep you engaged throughout because you are so unsure of what your really seeing. And once it’s revealed, the building version of the famous Guiness waterfall from the top of the glass that is, a little laugh of cleverness escapes. Keep pushing it Guiness.
